Learn to properly prune trees and shrubs for improved air circulation, light penetration, and disease management. Learn to diagnose plant problems as the first step in IPM and how to know when you have an abiotic problem. Learn the symptoms that result from herbicide drift.

IPM Workshop I-Site Preparation and Plant Selection - 12 credits

Two-day hands-on workshop featuring soils and soil microbiology, mulching to reduce pesticide applications, root problem prevention and treatment, site preparation and proper planting techniques, proper plant selection for improved plant health and low maintenance landscaping.

IPM Workshop III-IPM Turf Disease and Insect Diagnosis - 12 credits

IPM Workshop IV-IPM for Insects and Weeds - 12 credits

Use references, hand lenses and microscopes to identify arthropod damage. Develop skills for effective insect management and utilizing IPM Monitoring tools, biological and mechanical controls and low toxicity chemicals. Learn to identify and manage weeds with an IPM approach.
